Sample Job Description

Job Title: Director of Development and Communication

Reports to: Executive Director

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Identify and cultivate underwriter prospects (including in-kind)
- Craft funding proposals
- Assembly activity reports for underwriters
- Oversee agency marketing activities including the creation of all print and electronic outreach materials.
- Assist Executive Director with daily operations of the organization

Qualifications and Qualities:
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in related field
- 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in fund development
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Experience with developing and managing budgets
- High proficiency in desktop publishing software (e.g. Microsoft Publisher or Adobe PageMaker)
- Sophisticated design sense
- Experience in production of print pieces
- Experience in production of Web pages
- Marketing savvy
- High energy
- A team orientation
