Since 1993, the Alliance Rural Arts Initiative, better known as the Rural Arts Program has been providing support and technical assistance to designated rural art councils and art centers throughout New York State to help them strengthen their organizations and community involvement and support. The program is grounded in basic organization building and creating a network of information exchange as well as a statewide identity for the Rural Partners. Further, the Rural Arts Program links the Rural Partners directly with all peer organizations, services and information provided through Alliance membership. It is the only statewide program in the country specifically designed to deliver direct, fast and effective help to rural organizations. To attain these goals, the Rural Arts Program provides:

Professional Consultant Fee Subsidies for Rural Partners
The Alliance of New York State Arts Organizations has a long history as New York's primary service association for community based arts and cultural organizations. The Alliance provides leadership and vision, and delivers services, resources and tools that strengthen community cultural organizations. The Alliance monitors, informs and mobilizes the field on statewide and national issues affecting the arts and assists local arts agencies in building community support and developing effective grassroots public policy.ing community support and developing effective grassroots public policy.
