Workshops
Since 2000, the Rural workshops have been designed specifically to help board members in their volunteer work for non-profit arts organizations. The Rural Partners help develop the focus and topics for these workshops, which take place at various locations throughout upstate New York in the spring and early summer. Five or six Rural Partners volunteer as host organizations; from this point, the workshops are individually developed using input from their boards to hone the topics and speakers. The Rural workshops are open to all non-profits, and often by hosting one of the workshops, the Rurals Partner can provide extensive and extra assistance for their regional organizations they serve.
The Alliance of New York State Arts Organizations has a long history as New York's primary service association for community based arts and cultural organizations. The Alliance provides leadership and vision, and delivers services, resources and tools that strengthen community cultural organizations. The Alliance monitors, informs and mobilizes the field on statewide and national issues affecting the arts and assists local arts agencies in building community support and developing effective grassroots public policy.ing community support and developing effective grassroots public policy.
